June

The Monroe Township Woman's Club has several exciting events planned this month, and we invite the community to join us!

Our month begins on June 4th, when we will be participating in an Expo at Summerfield West. We will have an information table set up to introduce ourselves to residents and share information about our club, our mission, and our community initiatives. If you are available, please stop by and meet us—we would love to connect with you.

On June 6th, the Monroe Township Woman's Club looks forward to assisting the Parks & Recreation Commission at the township's first Music Fest at Owen's Park. We are excited to partner with them and support this wonderful community event. It promises to be a fun-filled evening featuring great music, activities, and entertainment for all ages.

We will also be hosting a Dine & Donate Fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse on June 9th. We hope all of our supporters will join us for an enjoyable evening of great food while helping support our club's efforts within the community. We will have an information table available to answer questions about our organization, our programs, and the initiatives we support throughout Monroe Township.

While our club is always working to improve and assist our community, we rely on the generosity of others to help us make a difference. Several of our committees are currently seeking donations.

Domestic & Sexual Violence Committee

Our Domestic & Sexual Violence Committee continues to collect items from its Amazon Wish List (available on our Donations page) for the "You Are NOT Alone" Project. Throughout the year, we assemble care bags for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. These bags contain essential items that provide comfort and support during one of the most difficult times in a person's life. While a small bag of necessities may seem simple, it sends a powerful message that someone cares and that survivors are not alone.

Advocates for Children

The New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs has partnered with Embrella as its two-year state project, supporting children in transition. This cause is especially meaningful to our club. Last year, the Monroe Township Woman's Club donated more than $4,900 worth of needed items to support children in foster and transitional care.

We have already begun collecting donations for this project and are currently seeking new backpacks and duffel bags. Additional needed items can be found on our Donations page under Advocates for Children. Many children entering foster care leave difficult situations with little more than a garbage bag to carry their belongings. Your donations can help provide dignity, comfort, and practical support during an uncertain time in their lives.

Project Linus Volunteers Needed

Advocates for Children is also seeking volunteers who crochet, knit, or quilt to assist with the Project Linus initiative. Just like Linus from the Peanuts comic strip, these handcrafted security blankets provide comfort to children experiencing difficult circumstances. Your time and talent can make a lasting difference in a child's life.

Join Us at Our Next Meeting

Our regular club meeting will be held on June 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Pfeiffer Center. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about our organization to attend. Come meet our members, learn about our projects, and discover how you can become involved in making a positive impact in our community.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and thank you for your continued support of the Monroe Township Woman's Club.
